Es por eso por lo que quizás 66format ha adoptado este pseudónimo, consciente de lo que supuso en el cine, la adaptación de cada uno de sus fotogramas a este tipo de formato. Este fotógrafo ukraniano nacido en Kharlkov en 1981, muestra una clara preferencia por la fotografía en blanco y negro ya que le permiten cierta sensación de libertad para reflejar estados de ánimo y poder crear con plena libertad. Paradójicamente y a pesar de su pseudónimo, 66format casi siempre utiliza el formato cuadrado para sus fotografías.

In the history of painting, the proper canvas framed by a wooden structure, replaced the frescos and the murals during the Renaissance. In cinema, during the 50’s, the development of the “panoramic format” produced an opposit effect when the picture was replaced by a “wall”. The spectators did not feel the limits of the sreen in the same way as in the classic, academic and 1,33:1 movie formats. It took much longer to the spectator to assimilate the contents in a widesreen format and they were less aware of the limits on the right and left of the screen.

It might be for this reason that 66format has adopted this pseudonym, being aware of what the adaptation of the panoramic format meant to “the seventh art”and consequently to photography. This ukranian photographer born in Kharkov in 1981, shows a clear preference for Black & White photography, as it allows him a certain sense of freedom to reflect his feelings , moods and to create freely. Paradoxically, despite his nickname, 66format almost always uses the square format for his pictures…

En la actualidad, el día de San Patricio se celebra en todo el mundo tanto por los irlandeses como por gente de otras nacionalidades, quienes independientemente de su origen étnico, utilizan prendas y elementos de color verde para cumplir cada año con esta original tradición popularmente conocida como “the Wearing of Green“. …Recuerdo una de las entrevistas que le hicieron a Woody Allen en el 2004 durante el rodaje de Match Point en Londres. Estaba literalmente fascinado con la ciudad, con su ambiente, con su gente. Fascinado especialmente con sus cielos plomizos. Unos cielos que le permitieron sacar lo mejor de cada imagen, de cada fotograma. Porque el sol, aunque pueda parecer algo contradictorio, ha sido el mayor detrimento con el que se ha topado a lo largo de su carrera…

Londres tiene algo especial que es lo que compensa la densidad de sus nubes. Es una ciudad abierta y cosmopolita que permite mirar a lo ancho y disfrutar de la perspectiva. Woody Allen rodó su película en el barrio de Belgravia, en Fulham Road, en St. James Park y en la  Tate Modern…Pero igualmente podría  haber escogido otros emplazamientos para sus escenas, como los capturados por algunos de los artistas de nuzart.com: el London Bridge, el British Museum  o el metro. Cualquier calle, cualquier barrio, cualquier lugar posee algo único. I remember an interview with Woody Allen in 2004 during the filming of Match Point in London. He was literally fascinated by the city, by its environment, by its people. But most of all he was especially fascinated by its leaden skies. Skies that allowed him to make the very best of every scene, every shot. Because the sun, though it might seem contradictory, has been the biggest detriment to Allen as a film director throughout his career …

London certainly has something special that compensates the density of the clouds. It’s an open and cosmopolitan city that lets you look across and enjoy the view. Woody Allen filmed his movie in Belgravia, Fulham Road, St. James Park and the Tate Modern … But he could equally as well have chosen any other locations for its scenes, like those captured by some of nuzart.com’s artists: the London Bridge, the British Museum or the Underground. Every street, every neighborhood, every place has something unique. No matter where you look or where you go. London does not need light to shine.
