Ric Nagualero has been immersed in art for most of his life. A native from Portugal, at the age of two he moved to South America (Brazil) with his parents. There he resided for the next 15 years, absorbing the exotic surroundings of the land and its people, a multiracial culture with its rich traditions and customs.

Returning to Europe in 1989, he attended High School in Cascais (Portugal) in the arts area. Pursuing further education, he moved to Swansea, Wales (UK) in 1992, where part of his family is from. There he attended College at Swansea’s Institute of Higher Education (University of Wales) specializing in Illustration and Fine Arts.

In 1998, he starts a painting apprenticeship with german-english painter Thomas Bund at his Sintra Studio. A friendship and working relation that last to date.

Through out the years, Nagualero has steadily produced art, having exhibited his work and being collected accross the world.

His works are represented at well-known galleries and spaces.

Ric Nagualero ha estado inmerso en el mundo del arte de la mayor parte de su vida.  Nativo de Portugal, a la edad de dos años se trasladó a América del Sur (Brasil) con sus padres. Allí residió durante los siguientes 15 años, absorbiendo el ambiente exótico de la tierra y de su gente, una cultura multirracial con ricas tradiciones y costumbres.

Ya de vuelta a Europa en 1989, asistió a la Escuela Secundaria de Cascais (Portugal) especializándose en la rama de artes. Para continuar con la enseñanza superior, se mudó a Swansea, Gales (Reino Unido) en 1992, de donde es parte de su familia. Allí asistió a la Universidad de Swansea en el Instituto de Educación Superior (Universidad de Gales), para especializarse en Ilustración y Bellas Artes.

En 1998, comienza a asistir a clases de pintura con el pintor anglo-alemán Thomas Bund en su Estudio de Sintra. Desde entonces comenzó una relación de amistad y de trabajo que perdura hasta la actualidad.

En losúltimos años, Nagualero no ha dejado de pintar, además de haber expuesto sus obras por todo el mundo en conocidas galerías y espacios de arte.

La Fundación Beyeler en Riehen (Basilea, Suiza), acaba de albergar la primera gran retrospectiva en Europa sobre la obra de este pintor que pasó de pintar en las calles como un pobre por decisión propia, a exponer en prestigiosos certámenes artísticos. Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) es una de las personalidades más fascinantes de la reciente historia del arte. Este neoyorkino produjo en ocho años más de 1000 pinturas y 2000 dibujos, con una urgencia que parece que estuviera motivada por la exigencia de una corta vida; murió con tan sólo 27 años de una sobredosis. Lejos de tener un carácter oscuro y difícil, Basquiat estaba lleno de vitalidad, y así lo reflejan sus obras, caracterizadas por una gran fuerza expresiva y una sinceridad casi infantil.

I’ve definitely become an unconditional fan of Emilie Record. An artist born in France in 1980 who followed art classes (drawing, watercolor, oil painting, acrylic, sculpture) from 1986 to 1997.
She started to exhibit her work in France at age of 10. During this time she developed an accurate eye on shapes, lines, volumes and people, pulling her to become a designer.

She becomes an architect awarded by the French government in 2004. Strong of abilities to foresee tendencies and materials and attracted by cultural mixtures, she is joining the Chinese master Bing Thom in Vancouver (Canada) working on Arena Stage Theatre (Washington DC) and TTC University (Fort Worth, Texas). She gets hired later by the French AS Shanghai (Strasbourg Parliament, Paris Oriental World Institute IMA) and Philip Johnson where she won urban competitions in Asia. She then continued to work closer on Interior design projects and graphics, producing and developing powerful artistic concepts through sustainable approaches.

She now fully focuses on illustrations, paintings and graphic design.
