Taxis Calcuta by Sergio Mantecón

If I type the word “TAXI” into google and press enter, a huge world of nearly 100 millions of results appears around me… 

But what happens if I do the same action on nuzart.com?… Surprisingly and fortunately, when typing “TAXI” on nuzart.com’s search-box, what I discover and find -right in front of my eyes- is a fantastic gallery of artits’ artworks in which the undisputed protagonists are the artists and their colorfull TAXIS. Images that could either be used to illustrate a book or decorate any space that deserves a touch of sophisticated urbanite appearance. And as it has occured whith this gallery dedicated to taxis, we can also come on with other attractive series of photographs and illustrations if typing th word heart, flower, city…and so on.

In the end, the fact is that you never know what will you find until you look deeper on nuzart.com’s  searching tool bar.

Si escribo la palabra “TAXI” en el buscador de Google, me encontraré ante una eterna e inagotable lista de más de 100 millones de resultados…demasiados.

¿Pero qué ocurre si hago exactamente lo mismo en nuzart.com?… Afortunadamente y casi como por arte de magia, cuando escribo TAXI en el buscador de nuzart.com, lo que descubro es una fantástica galería de obras de autor en la que los protagonistas indiscutibles son sus artistas y sus llamativos TAXIS. Una colección de imágenes que lo mismo podrían servir de portada de un libro, como de elementos decorativos para ambientar espacios sofisticados con un toque cool y urbanita. Y al igual que ocurre con esta galería dedicada a los taxis, podemos repetir esta acción de búqueda para encontrar otras muchas series fotográficas entorno a la palabra amor, flor, ciudad…y así de forma sucesiva.

Josh Jenkins alias joshjenk  es un joven artista neoyorquino, con una amplia experiencia en diseño gráfico, ilustración y fotografía, cuya vida ha estado siempre vinculada al arte. Creció en Nueva York y posteriormente se trasladó a Kentucky para realizar sus estudios secundarios. Y es con 19 años cuando finalmente regresa a Nueva York para matricularse en la Licenciatura de Arte y Medios Digitales de la Universidad Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY), y llevar a cabo su gran sueño: Vivir y ganarse la vida haciendo lo que realmente le apasiona.

 Durante los últimos 5 años ha trabajado en numerosos proyectos  y ha expuesto sus obras en diversos lugares como el Hudson Valley de NY y en Philadelphia, PA. Su Galería de obras expuesta en nuzart.com está compuesta por dibujos abstractos, esencialmente expresionistas, tratados con técnicas mixtas digitales.

Raised in New York during his childhood, he moved to Kentucky during high school, and by the age of nineteen, he returned back to New York so that he could attend college and pursue his life long dreams:  to make a life long living out of one of his greatest passions. This current year he will have a BS in Digital Media with a Studio Art Minor from Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY).

For over the past 5 years, he has been working on a wide range of projects, and has shown his paintings around the Hudson Valley, NY and in Philadelphia, PA. Las Vegas artist and photographer Regina Lafay, aka MissLafay,  joined the many creative souls in South Devon by taking up residence in Torquay. It is her hope to bring awareness to the many atrocities as well as miracles that effect us as human beings and link us all together with one message: You are not alone. Lafay’s work is widely known in the psychiatric and medical industry, as well as child advocacy and abuse groups. Her images have appeared in such films as Dreamworks’ The Ring Two, and in publications worldwide.

La obra Words in the wind del artista digital Saburokiyoshi, guarda un cierto paralelismo con Mucho ruido y pocas nueces (Much ado about nothing), una comedia romántica escrita por William Shakespeare que se desarrolla en Messina, Sicilia. La trama gira alrededor de la boda de Claudio y Hero, y centra su gracia en los enredos que provocan los personajes. Desde entonces, la expresión Mucho ruido y pocas nueces, ha sido utilizada para destacar el carácter ambiguo que en muchas ocasiones nos brindan determinadas palabras para al final decir poco o incluso nada. Es lo que coloquialmente conocemos como BLA BLA BLA…

Words in the wind by Saburokiyoshi

The illustration Words in the wind by digital artist Saburokiyoshi  suggets a certain parallelism with William Shakespeare’s play Much Ado About Nothing, a romantic comedy set in Messina, Sicily. The story concerns a pair of lovers named Claudio and Hero who are due to be married, and focuses its humor on the tangles caused by the characters. As a result of this play, the expression Much Ado About Nothing  it’s been used to alight the difficulties that may arise from the ambiguity of the words that we use so many times to say nothing at all. It’s what we popularly know as blah blah blah…
